ONE (only).

Mr. Weighing Scale just won’t give me the time of the day. i weighed myself at the gym today and found that i lost only ONE lb. does that even count? grrrrrr!!!! i think this is telling me that i really need to push harder at the gym. the eating i am already able to control but now it’s the working out that i need to level up. as a consolation, i’m just happy to say that i’ve surpassed a certain boundary that i’ve wanted to get past a long time ago. i’m just 1 lb under that number it but i guess it’s good for a start. sige lang, michelle. patience is a virtue! do not give up! as mdm Lau would say, Vamos! ๐Ÿ˜€

i’m so excited to post today’s menu because i made a few interesting changes to them again. here goes:

breakfast: oh, nothing new here yet. hehe. just my usual oatmeal with peaches and a dusting of nutmeg, a slice of wheat toast smothered with Cheez Whiz plus a cuppa yogurt.

lunch: added a few interesting ingredients to my usual salad. there’s corn kernels (from the can), bacon bits (real bacon cut into tiny pieces), chopped walnuts, parmesan cheese. all these added to the always present lettuce, apples, cucumber and turnips. this was super yummy! i’ll make sure to add boiled egg slices next time!

Snacks: (the orange liquid thingy is my salad dressing) i had apple slices and Sky Flakes Flaxseed crackers and Quaker Oats Granola Bar in Chocolate Chip (not in picture). i really need to add to this. 1 am snack, another pm snack, and another snack for when i’m at the gym. tonight i found myself starving while working out so i’ll probably need an energy bar to fuel me throughout.

dinner: are you ready for this? hahaha! i had baked bangus topped with diced tomatoes plus steamed broccoli and corn kernels on the side. this was quite good knowing that its just fish and veggies. not that filling lang kay i found myself really hungry at the gym to think i ate this just less than an hour before i started working out. but i’ll be sure to have this again soon. ๐Ÿ™‚

post workout: patay gyud ko ani! hahaha! see, my brother came from a friend’s party yesterday and they had this uber cool customized cake by the amazing Trina Ang of Cake Couture by Trina. i love this girl’s cakes because of their rich chocolate-y taste and moist(ness). sooooo darn good. plus she can make your cakes in any shape that you want. as in anything at all. i’ve ordered from her quite a number of times before and i always recommend her to friends. this cake is shaped as a Longchamp bag. ain’t it pretty? ๐Ÿ™‚ย when James offered a small slice to me tonight i just couldn’t resist. so instead of preparing a bowl of cereal for me, i had this very sinful piece of cake. i don’t know if this hurt my diet. i mean it’s so small! and i loved it too much. bahala na! no regrets! hahaha! :p

workout: i missed my trainer again today because apparently he left the gym early. so i had to settle with another one. as i mentioned before, i’m not as inspired to sweat it out as much if my trainer’s not around. so it was a lazy gym session for me. hay… i eat cakes, i don’t train hard. THEN i ask myself why i can’t lose weight faster? mau ka michellego!!! anyway, here’s today’s workout:

outfit: i don’t know why i bother wearing WHITE. ย light colored tops always make me look chunkier than the usual. so in this picture i had to bring my bag to hide a bit of the chunky-ness. haha! just a little bit about the bag. i’ve been using this on almost a daily basis for a little over a year already and i think it needs to retire. Karen told me the other day mick, luoy na kaayo imong bag! hahaha! IKR!!! ย this needs to be replaced na gyud! i’m on the look out for a nice new sturdy and big enough bag for less than p2k that would go well with most of my clothes. if any of you finds one, please give me heads up! thankieee!

i got this top at the MEPZ bazaar last year for p100. the shorts from SMDS a long time ago, flats as usual from Suelas which is the Llanura in Nude, ย this necklace fr a little accessories kiosk in Robinsons Place Manila when i went there last month and lastly, my pink watch fr Aldo. i feel so bad for dropping this TWICE today. gaaaah! i’m so clumsy! i’m so not meant for expensive stuff, not that this watch is mega expensive. :p but i’m just saying i cannot be trusted with things like earrings, shades and accessories that are pricier than the usual because i either lose them or destroy them just a few months after i buy them. ๐Ÿ˜ i hope i didn’t shorten the lifespan of my watch because of my dropping them today. *shakes head in dissaproval*

S&R – i’m so happy S&R is opening right here in my home town! according to Ilene, this is where we can buy Greek Yogurt as she researched from this site. i’ve been looking for this every where because PBFingers always has this in her daily menu and it seems so delicious! S&R is a members only shopping sort of like Makro and Costco (in the US) and since they’re not yet open, they’re selling their membership cheaper than the usual. in other words, buy 1 take 1! Karen and i shared the discount and she went all the way to the S&R office to sign up for a membership for us. she then left this temporary card for me at the BBabies studio today. thank you so much Kar for going through all that hassle! hehe! ๐Ÿ˜€ can’t wait to go grocery shopping w/ you again. this time in S&R na! ๐Ÿ™‚

Peanut’s new haircut

since baby Peanut gave birth a little over a month ago, she hasn’t had a bath. she smells so horrible, her hair is all matted up but i love her just the same. she also gave us a bit of an after-pregnancy scare when we saw some blood in her urine. her vet just told us that her uterus hasn’t fully closed yet after giving birth hence the bleeding. but he gave Peanut some meds to hasten the healing of her uterus and to stop the bleeding. today Peanut went back to the vet for her check up and she’s all okay already so the doc gave us the go signal to let her have a bath na. well, we gave her more than a bath. we sent her to the grooming salon and gave her a spankin’ new haircut. doesn’t she look adorable? i love how i can see her eyes better now! here’s a before & after photo. the before photo was taken about 1 week after she gave birth. big difference noh! hehe! i love you mama Pea! while i was taking pictures of Peanut little Barney joined in on the fun as well. and since i got to take a decent shot of him, i might as well post it. he’s the most good looking among all the boys after his Papa Choco. i love those eyes! i really should make a blog entry about all my baby loves with matching photo and description soon. ๐Ÿ™‚

i love my babies even if they irritate the heck out of me sometimes. they’ve destroyed about 6 of my Havaianas slippers in the past so now i wear different styles for my left & right feet. so much for my collection! hmf! and just look what Barney did to my R2R Tree Bag yesterday! waaaaaaaahh!!! calling Joyerz! can i still have this repaired? ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

what i ate/did/wore/bought today.

sorry, i can’t think of a better title. ๐Ÿ˜

i’m pretty sure the few readers of this blog already know how my day goes so i don’t want to bore you anymore with the nitty grittyof another random day in Life With Mickie. i told myself that this week i want to try new food but still in keeping with my healthy eating. so here’s today’s menu:

Breakfast: Cheese & Tomato (wheat) Quesadilla

yes! something new! ๐Ÿ˜€ haha! i was inspired to make this after reading PBFingers‘ blog. this is basically just wheat tortilla, grated cheese plus diced tomatoes. i put them on the George Foreman grill until the wheat tortilla wrap had lovely brown grill marks on them. i think i may have gone a little overboard with the cheese. but other than that, i’d say this was one YUMMY breakfast! nice change from the usual oatmeal or cereal. ๐Ÿ™‚ i added some grapes on the side too. can’t wait to make this again!

Lunch: i’m just finishing what’s left of the ingredients from last week’s trips to the grocery. so i had salmon & cream cheese sandwich again w/ a siding of Lay’s Baked potato chips. i have no more smoked salmon left in the fridge. i think i’ll miss having this because this is just too good!

Dinner: the usual tuna burger. minus the fried egg(whites) this time because we ran out. i have 1 more patty nalang left in the freezer so i might have this again towards the end of the week.

Work: i was at the Colon office the entire day just doing random desk work. nothing of much interest there but let me just post a photo connected to what i did yesterday at the BBabies studio. since it wasn’t particularly busy, i just spent my time uploading photos into our FB Fan Page which by the way already has a little over 17,000 fans. woopdedoo!!! ๐Ÿ˜€ most parents love it when their babies’ photos get featured on our Fan Page. here’s a series of my favorite photos of baby Nash. his mom was one of the very first to enroll her baby in a BBabies Membership back in May. we didn’t have a store that time yet so she signed up at the BBook kiosk in SM. i was so excited to finally meet baby Nash. isn’t he adorable? ๐Ÿ™‚

Purchase: i got a pack of Aquazorb towels to use for my work outs. i’ve been quite intrigued by this since their little store opened just 1 floor below BBabies. it is said to absorb water very quickly and is also anti-bacterial. a pack of three (very small) face towels for P100. don’t you love the color combination?

Outfit: i felt like dressing up a bit girly today even if there’s no occasion. for my top ( i don’t like the word BLOUSE. heehee), this floral printed flowy number is something i got from SMDS so long ago. i’m amazed that it still fits me despite my weight gain. my leggings are also fr SMDS, the first one i ever bought. i’m getting addicted to leggings already seeing as i already have 4 pairs in my closet. haha! and of course, my Suelas in Puntera Oro. this is my favorite pair among my last batch of orders. ๐Ÿ™‚ yako ra my outfit friends? :p sorry ha, i’m becoming so vain. i hope you don’t think i’m too TH for doing this! pasensiya na, i’m extra self-loving these days that its almost to the point of narcissism. ๐Ÿ˜‰

3 rounds 1 minute circling (30 sec interval) – this is what i do instead of skipping rope which i can’t do due to my weak knees. i think i’m the only one among the boxercise students who does this as warm up. they all can skip rope man. too bad for me!

2 rounds circuit training (a combination of about 12 consecutive exercises involving weights, push ups, dips, crunches, etc. very tiring kaayo!)

i swear my legs felt like jelly afterwards but i think it was a pretty good work out. ๐Ÿ™‚

after-gym grub: classicย peanut butter & jelly sandwich plus Nestle Fruit Selection yogurt in Raspberry Apple. i cut my sandwich into 2 triangles for a change. hehe ๐Ÿ˜€ these are extra crunchy because i grilled them a bit longer. yumyum!
